Julius is GDPR Compliant (And Why That Actually Matters)
By Zach Perkel · 2 min read
Look, we get it. GDPR compliance isn't the sexiest feature announcement. You're not going to see us put up billboards in SF about our data processing agreements.
But here's the thing: if you're using Julius to analyze your company's data (sales figures, user metrics, financial reports) you need to know that data is handled properly. Especially if you or your customers are in the EU.
This is what GDPR compliance means at Julius:
- Your data stays yours. We don't train models on your data or sell it to third parties (we never have and we never will). When you upload a file or connect a database, it's for your analysis, not ours.
- You can delete everything. Want your data gone? Just ask. We'll actually delete it, not just hide it in a backup somewhere.
- We're transparent about what we collect. No sneaky tracking or surprise data retention. What we collect and why is documented.
- Security isn't an afterthought. Encryption in transit and at rest, secure data handling, the works. Shoutout our dedicated security team.
Why this matters if you're not in the EU:
Even if you're based in the US, GDPR sets a solid baseline for how companies should handle your data. It's not just about compliance, it's about building something people can trust with their actual work.
So yeah, Julius is GDPR compliant. Because if you're going to be someone's "data scientist in their pocket," you better treat their data with respect.
